When the handle is fully upright, the sides of the Bagelpod are unlocked and fall open.  The blades are hidden and cannot engage while the sides are open.

Slide the bagel into the cavity of the Bagelpod and close the sides.  The bagel is automatically positioned for even slicing.

Pull the handle down to engage the blades and slice the bagel in half.  The sides of the Bagelpod are now locked closed.

Pull the handle back to the top to unlock the sides of the Bagelpod

Open the sides of the Bagelpod and remove the sliced bagel.
